 Winter Sports Season Tops Expectations |
The conclusion of the winter sport season found success stories in three of the five sports. The Girls Soccer Team, Wrestling Team and Boys Basketball Team all completed the season as District Runners-up with all of them advancing in the playoffs. The Girls Soccer Team advanced to the Region Semi-Finals while the Boys Basketball Team advanced to the Region Quarter Finals. Nine wrestlers advanced to the Region Tournament with one advancing to the State Wrestling Tournament. Antonio Starr advanced to the State Wrestling Tournament and placed 5th in state at the 152 pound weight class. All in all the winter sports season was quite successful. Congratulations to the Girls Soccer, Wrestling, and Boys Basketball teams and their coaches; Coach David Wilson, Coach Cristina Escobar, Coach Mike Turner, Coach Jorge Borgen, Coach Ray Beneby, Coach Winston Smith and Coach Jackie Lamons.

Congratulations to seniors Natashalee Scott and Nicole Vidal for being chosen to play on the North Miami-Dade County Girls Soccer Allstar Team. Special congratulations go to Natashalee as she scored the only goal in the Allstar game against the South Miami-Dade Allstar Team which gave the North Allstar Team the victory for the first time in a number of years. CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN TO NATASHALEE SCOTT AND NICOLE VIDAL!!! NEWS FLASH!!! Natashlee Scott was named to the FACA Allstar Team and played the North vs. South FACA Allstar Girls Soccer Game.
