In an effort to create a healthier school / workplace, Hialeah-Miami Lakes

Senior High has joined the Alliance for a Healthier Generation's Healthy

Schools program. The goal of the Alliance is to reduce childhood obesity

and promote healthier living among students and teachers as well. HML

wants to be a leader in this initiative and invites the entire community to

Plan for Your Post Secondary Education

As a high school student, you have many options after graduating. One in particular is attending a college or university. The links below are resources that may assist you in planning for your college entrance process. If you are a senior, plan early in order to have all the required documents needed for the next fall semester. Follow the steps provided to ensure a smooth transition into college.

Step 1. Select a career of choice (major), then select a college.

Step 2. Apply to the college and for financial aid as soon as possible.

Step 3. Mail your high school transcripts, ACT or SAT scores to the colleges of choice.

Step 4. Have your immunization records handy.  

Step 5. Check for freshmen orientation and registration dates.

Step 6. Find information on housing if you are not planning on commuting to school.

Note: A completed FAFSA application must be on file before you can even apply for grants or scholarships. This is a requirement for all colleges and universities in the United States.

Dress Code Policy

Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High is a mandatory uniform school. All students are expected to wear the selected uniforms everyday. TOPS: Collared polo shirt in white, royal blue, or orange. BOTTOMS: Long pants to ankle in khaki or blue jeans. Absolutely NO shorts, skirts, cut offs or capri pants. SHOES: Closed shoes only-sneakers, loafers or boots. Absolutely NO flip flops, thongs, or open sandals. Students not wearing their uniforms are subject to disciplinary actions.
